Here’s What to Expect
Welcome to SKS Orthodontics! When you arrive, please check in at the front desk to let us know you’re here.
Once you’ve settled in, one of our orthodontists—Dr. Vincent Smith, Dr. Brian Kurtzner, or Dr. Greg Stock—will conduct a comprehensive orthodontic examination. They will discuss all aspects of the recommended treatment with you and your family.
Questions We’ll Answer During Your Initial Exam:
- Is there an orthodontic issue that requires treatment?
- When is the best time to start treatment?
- What type of treatment will be most effective?
- How long will treatment take?
- What will the treatment cost?
Next Steps if Treatment is Needed
If orthodontic treatment is recommended, we’ll schedule an appointment to take Diagnostic Records, which will help us create a customized treatment plan. When time allows, we may be able to take these records during your initial visit.
What Are Diagnostic Records?
- Study models of your teeth
- Panoramic and cephalometric X-rays and tracings
- A thorough analysis by our doctors to determine the best treatment plan
Understanding Treatment Costs
The cost of your orthodontic treatment depends on the complexity of your case. During your initial exam, our treatment coordinator will discuss the fees and available payment options with you. We provide a range of payment plans to fit your budget and accept most insurance plans, making orthodontic care affordable and accessible.
Your Investment Covers
- Orthodontic Records
Including X-rays, study models, and a personalized growth analysis to determine your treatment goals. - Active Treatment Fees
Covering all appliances, office visits, and procedures for both early and comprehensive treatment options, such as braces or Invisalign. Appliances are durable and designed to last the entire treatment period with proper care. - Final Retainers
One set of final retainers is provided for our comprehensive (Phase II) patients upon treatment completion. (Replacement retainers may incur a fee if lost or damaged.)
What Isn’t Included in Your Investment
- External Services
Any dental work done outside our practice. - Additional Treatments
If an accident or injury occurs during treatment that results in TMJ (Temporo-Mandibular Joint) issues or other surgical needs, additional fees may apply.
Insurance and Payment Options
To help minimize out-of-pocket expenses, we accept the assignment of benefits for most insurance plans. If your insurance is not accepted directly, we will gladly file claims on your behalf so you can receive reimbursement directly. Please inform us of any changes to your insurance before your treatment is complete so we can adjust your contract accordingly.
Office Hours and Appointment Guidelines
Our goal is to see each patient promptly and keep appointments on schedule. This gives us enough time to perform the necessary procedures and address any questions you may have. Please arrive on time for your appointment to help us maintain this smooth operation. Our team and other patients greatly appreciate your cooperation.
